Tone for days man. Clapton’s voice, his amp, his hands, Ginger’s drumming, and that awesome fat bass from Jack. It’s ridiculous!

Those of us who were blessed to be around in those fabulous days are the luckiest people in the world! There is NO other music that can even come close to comparing. GREAT music, good drugs and good old mexican pot, being our age now is SO worth it lol!!!

This song, more than any other, displays the virtuosity of all three men. While Clapton’s solo is most talked about (and rightly so), it’s Jack Bruce’s thundering bass line throughout the song that provides the power. Try to isolate the sounds and listen...I’m sure you’ll agree. One of the best live recordings ever.

3 guys playing live on stage and recorded with ancient technology.  Kicks more ass than any 10 bands today.

Clapton's two solos might be the best guitar work ever heard on a rock record.

Fun fact: Eric Clapton played so fast and so aggressively, with light-gauge strings so that he could get the most "play" out of them, that the Yardbirds’ manager, Giorgio Gomelsky, gave Eric Clapton the nickname “Slowhand” in early 1964 because of the fact that Clapton would often have to restring his guitar between songs, causing the crowds to clap slowly (it's a British thing!) in frustration while they waited. So it was a play on words; Clapton was so fast and aggressive, and the crowds were so frantic for more music, that Gomelsky thought it quite a good nickname for such a fast, frustrating guitar player. And, man, was he ever fast...!

The underrated star of this piece of magic is surely Jack Bruce 🙅‍♂️

Pound for pound, the best rock recording ever. Clapton's two-chorus, then three-chorus solo is perfection. And what Jack and Ginger do behind it is truly incredibly intuitive and amazing.

Absolutely one of the best bassist of all time....wow. Not only does he sound great, but he is keeping up with Clapton, and carrying the band thru this whole song! I cant think of any one better right now, can you?

one of the most impressive examples of improvisation ever recorded...especially Clapton...he was making it up on the fly and it came out as perfection
