Hank complimenting a Neanderthal's painting with such sincerity is the wholesome content I live for.

Hank: I’m gonna put it right here on the fridge so everyone can see it
Neanderthal: 🥰

The fact we have a drawing made by a KNOWN sentient species that is NOT our own is absolutely WILD.

It makes me sad, knowing that they'll never know how good it is. It's genuinely sweet.

Imagine doing some doodles on a cave wall because you’re bored and many years later people are racking their brains on what it all means xD

As an art history major, this COMPLETELY fascinates me.

What I think is remarkable is that they weren’t just copying animals that saw (and doing a good job at it) but they were expressing some form of abstract thought that was unique to them.

Hank, three whiskeys deep, crying at the bar:
I just want the Neanderthals to know that I like their art and they did a great job 😭

"A three armed bunny on a fan boat."

History Channel: "These may have been drawn by other *worldly* beings."

I can’t stop staring at how neat and evenly spaced apart the dots in the upper left corner are 😳

This is probably the best inspiration for anyone struggling with art block lol just imagine thousands of years from now there’s gonna be some dork that is loved and trusted by a community who is irrevocably excited about your art

I love how the cave paintings in Spain created an complete shift in fundamental scientific understanding of the human timeline.

I remember reading something about how cave paintings were painted in the dark by the dim and flickering light of torches, and when viewed in conditions that replicate that state, they take on a very different feeling. The anthropologist that wrote the piece (sorry, I do not recall if it was an article or part of a book) described that the cave paintings seemed 'to come alive' and move in the dim and flickering light, that these cave paintings weren't just art, they were the moving pictures, TV if you will, of their time.

This is to say, I wonder if, were you to view that 3 armed bunny on a fan boat depicted on a wall in a darkened room with just a candle as light, would it become something recognizable to our modern experience?

I'm honestly thinking it may be a representation of a pulled sled with some kind of covering. And I agree, its very good. And for the record, I want to 3d print a bunny on a fan boat now. Thank you
