zelda 2 is the greatest indie game of the ever

edit: now that I have actually watched the video...Yoku is based. Obra Dinn is based. Golf Story is based. Momodora is based. Snoman is based. (zelda 2 still based)

Even though it is pretty popular I would say an underrated indie would definitely be Crosscode, I love that game so much

CrossCode is so overlooked it hurts.

Seven years in the making and it's easily the best RPG I've ever played, yet I don't see anyone talking about it unless I look for it.

I really recommend Rain World. It’s HELLISH at times (most of the time) but has one of the most rewarding learning curves I’ve ever experienced.

If Dwarf Fortress went on steam for 2020 we can easily say we have an underrated indie game for this decade.

When I saw Wandersong, I nearly screamed. Absolutely one of my favorite games EVER, and it's deeply underrated.

One of my personal favorites is still Downwell. Crazy fast paced gameplay. Super tight controls. Constant risk/reward decisions being made. Absolutely love it!

oh man I'm SO happy you not only added JSAB to the list but made it number 1!!! it's one of my favorite games, it's so fun to play over and over.... if I could add anything to the list I might add pikuniku– it's incredibly fun and cute and has similar vibes to wandersong but I never hear people talk about it!

Underhero

Great little platformer with a unique combat system (I've heard it compared to Paper Mario), creative worlds and characters, and a really gripping story.

Shapes and Beats is SUCH a good game. The music absolutely slaps and close to me is phenomenal. Also the little blue block friends are adorable

So glad to see someone giving Wandersong and Momodora the spotlight they deserve! Absolutely wonderful titles through and through.

I'd like to recommend SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech. A combination of an oldschool JRPG and slay the spires card battling system where you can theorycraft combos and explore a picturesque fairytale world, the consistent unlocks and switch ups in strategy and enemies really keep you hooked for the entire playtime.

It even has a hard mode which really ups the spicyness and tests your deckbuilding and understanding, to the point of needing to switch loadouts per boss. Of course it has the SteamWorld moniker so you know its polished to a brilliant sheen, amazing visuals and music, a definite recommend if you have any interest in card games and rpgs.

Lisa: The Painful is undoubtedly my favorite indie game. It’s fangame Lisa:the pointless is ridiculously polished while maintaining the core themes of the original with a completely new caste and chunk of the world. Never have I seen such a mastery of tone and emotion. Both these games played me like a fiddle. The painful more than the pointless.

A great underrated indie game for me this decade is Death Road To Canada! It's a rogue-like in which you and some jerks you find on the street have a road trip to Canada so that you can be safe from Zombies. You have to fight zombies, find crazy weapons, and train your team. You'll meet wacky characters (many of which are parodies of other famous characters), get in bizarre situations, and you can even give a dog an Ak-47! Not to mention that it can get really tough, with up to 500 zombies on screen! Death Road To Canada is one of my favorite games, and if you're into rogue-likes or funny games, I encourage you to give it a try!

One game that flew almost completely under the radar is the (sometimes brutally hard) platformer N++. It's a pretty simplistic looking game, however there is a lot of depth put into game design in addition to the mass of levels to play.

I'd say Steamworld Heist is one of those games made just for me. It's a perfect blend of steampunk and 2D turn-based fun. I just can't get enough! I've literally had to buy it 3 times now, and I'd keep paying for it if I had to.

Im not sure if this is too recent or not, but by far my favorite indie game that came out this year is Hylics 2. It's not a game for everyone, but I enjoy what it does offer: a very interesting claymation artstyle, JRPG combat that's alot more than just mashing the attack button and making you plan out strategies for every fight, and the very chill but surreal soundtrack

Glad you mentioned JS&B, it's really one hell of a good game. I'd say it's a spiritual successor to the Bit.Trip series, especially Bit.Trip Void. Still hoping for a retail release of JS&B.
But I'm also a bit sad you didn't honour Outer Wilds in this video (even though you showed gameplay at the end). That'd be my game of the decade for sure!
