ABOUT ANTZ:
Z the worker ant (Voice of Woody Allen) strives to reconcile his own individuality with the communal work-ethic of the ant colony. He falls in love with ant-Princess Bala (Voice of Sharon Stone), Z strives to make social inroads, and then must save the ant colony from the treacherous scheming of the evil General Mandible (Voice of Gene Hackman) that threaten to wipe out the entire worker population. A rather neurotic ant tries to break from his totalitarian society while trying to win the affection of the princess he loves.

I think what sticks out here is that compared to all the other “fall deaths” in kids animation, this one actually SHOWS the impact, and the way the body goes limp when he smacks into the root is a super gruesome detail.
