They didn't just come running to greet him. They came running in to protect him. They surrounded him as if he was in danger and they wanted to protect him. It's obvious that they like him.

He calls KAM LHA. KAM LHA is northern Thailand dialect 's name means "Little girl".

Three of the elephants encircle the dude whilst the biggest puts himself between the man and the camera operator looking at him like " We going to have a problem, dude?"
