I think Xenoblade 2 might be my favorite game of all time, just cause I'm such a huge fan of narratives. And this music just makes it all come back. God what a ride it was...

There’s just something so magical about Xenoblade 2. I’m not sure if it’s because of the nostalgia from the past, but I do know that it inspires the inner child in me. Massive monsters, cities in the sky and the music just tie it all together.

It feels like people are commenting on the OST as a whole here, so I’ll put how it makes me feel. I have fell in love with this OST to the point where I put the playlist on shuffle as my go to music source. Every song, from the popular ones like Counterattack, to the underrated gems like Giga Rosa, to the quieter ones like this, does a great job at evoking a feeling. I have fallen in love with almost every one of these songs (they can’t all be winners, looking at you Tiger Tiger). No OST has done anything similar except maybe they Super Mario Galaxy series. So thank you, ACE+, for this magnum opus of video game OST’s, and enjoy, o ye listener, the greatest video game original soundtrack of all time.

Putting this here for anyone who might care.
My experiences playing through Xenoblade 2 were the best in my life up to that point. If there's anything you need to know about me before I begin it's that I tend to get very immersed in a good story. I got this game on Christmas 2019, the same year I received my switch. Along with it I got super mario odyssey, super smash brothers ultimate, and xenoblade chronicles 2. As it would, I was a bit tenacious to try this new series when I knew the other two wouldn't let me down. Around this time I also discovered chuggaaconroy on youtube. I watched his entire playthrough of xenoblade chronicles 1 and finally decided to give 2 a try. Other people had told me it was far worse than 1, so I had low expectations going into it. Needless to say it shot that down very quickly. From the minute I pressed new game I knew it was going to be a good time. I don't want to make this too long so I'll cut it short.
Holy shit. This game is a masterpiece and no one can tell me otherwise. Firstly, and the reason you're even on this video, the music. I will sit on this hill that xenoblade chronicles 2 has the best music arrangement ever to exist until the day I die. There is not a single track I dislike to be found. Secondly no, the combat system is not slow, you are just bad at it. I've heard stories of people taking 45 minutes on the olethro ruins boss battle and I just don't see the complaint. Third, the environments. I could sit and look at them for hours. Leftheria is one of the most beautiful places I've seen in a video game. Fifth, the characters. I love almost every one of these characters, important or not. The only ones that stick out as bad or annoying to me personally are dromarch and electra. Most of the time I feel like dromarch was thrown in there just so nia could have a blade. Besides those two, everyone has an interesting character and I wanted to know more about them. The voice acting is phenomenal as well. Everyone fits their role perfectly and plays them very well. And leaving the best for last is of course the story.(some spoilers from here on) Where do I even start with it? On the negative side there really isn't much besides the introduction of a certain robot and a certain bedroom scene that I do not wish to think about at the moment. Other than minor contrivances, everything else was perfect. The amount of tears this game caused can not and most likely will not be topped by anything else I ever play. The cutscene after Jin and Malos took Pyra in Tantal was the first time I broke down at a video game. Reaching elysium and seeing what became of it, although pretty expected, still hit me hard. Finally, the cutscene after Aion. Poppi's promise in Morytha being used like that is when I decided that she was my favorite character in fiction. I'm tearing up right now just thinking about it. Then right after that when one last you began to play, I just set my controller down, leaned back, and thought. For hours. This game emotionally destroyed me for almost a week. Over that time, I listened to drifting soul and one last you, now my two favorite songs of all time, nonstop. That was a while ago now. I've almost completed the base game 100%, and I'm going to start playing torna soon. This is my favorite game of all time, and I don't expect that to change soon.

I bought this game exactly 1 year ago today, I still think this game is phenomenal. easily the best game I have ever played - and I have played a LOT of games



its got the best soundtrack, a decent battle system, amazing characters, incredible story and fascinating concepts - what more could you want in a game? 10/10 would recommend buying if you dont have it
