seems like every choir teacher made us sing this

I sang this song in my high school choir growing up. Our teacher would always pick Christian songs and we would learn songs in different languages.

Now that I am a Christian I sing this to my Africa brothers to minister to them and they’re always shocked when I know some Swahili. 🙌🏻 I give God all the glory!

This is a beautiful song!!

Back in the seventh grade, I sung this song with my choir. All these years later and it's still one of my favorite songs. <3

I’m so happy! to hear this song, 48 years after this ran in my mind, I listened to it as a kid, I was never in a choir, and I knew this song and the language.🙌

I've done this song as a choral performance, and I have to say it was one of my favorites, and I've done a lot of songs! Our director actually had the choir doing all of the jungle sounds, before and after the song while the lights were coming up or dimming out. The audience loved it, and so did we!

Viumbe vyote vya mungu wetu
Na mfalme wetu
Viumbe vyote vya mungu wetu
Na mfalme wetu

Pazeni sauti ili nasi mwimbe

Watu wote
Viumbe vyote
Awaye yote
Sifu mungu

Watu wote
Viumbe vyote
Awaye yote
Sifu mungu

All creatures of our God and King (O sifuni mungu)
Lift up your voice and with us sing (O sifuni mungu)
Thou burning sun with golden beam (imbeni, imbeni)
Thou silver moon with softer gleam (pazeni sauti imbeni)

Viumbe Vyote vya mungu wetu na mfalme wetu

Thou rushing wind that art so strong (O sifuni mungu)
Ye clouds that sail in heaven along (O sifuni mungu)
Thou rising morn in praise rejoice (imbeni, imbeni)
Ye lights of evening find a voice (Kazeni sauti imbeni)

Viumbe vyote vya mungu wetu na mfalme wetu

Thou flowing water pure and clear (hm.hm.hm.hm)
Make music for thy Lord to hear! (hm.hm.hm.hm.)
Thou fire, so masterful and bright (Imbeni!)
That givest man both warmth and light.(Imbeni!)

vyumbe vyote na mungu we tu

Pazeni sauti (chitter)

Let all things their Creator bless (O sifuni mungu)
And worship Him in humbleness (O sifuni mungu)
O praise the Father, praise the Son (imbeni, imbeni)
And praise the Spirit, three in one (pazeni sauti imbeni)

Man, I had no idea this was so popular in high school choirs. That's DEFINITELY where I heard it and it's very odd to have an atheist running around the house singing this but this song is fun so who cares :D

I had a solo in 9th grade, and I sang the intro. Afterwords, a girl I barely knew approached me and told me her mother cried when I sang. This song is like a core memory to me, much love everyone!

I learned it listening to the radio station in Jamaica Love 101fm. Still living in Jamaica and still listening but now on YouTube

Everyone in the comments: I learned this when I was in school for choir!

Me: I learned this when I was four because my mom had it on tape and we would listen to it while driving around.

I remember when the Somethin' Takes Over album came out in 1987. That was the year I married the love of my life. Next to accepting Jesus Christ, that was the best decision I've ever made.

Learned the portuguese version of this in school, for choir purposes. İ remember that we had a kenyan music teacher and he taught us this and also a little bit of swahili. God bless him.

God's Spirit reached out to His Spirit living in me causing me to come undone with uncontrollable joyful crying at the worship of the creator, after many years of not hearing this song, which I've known since its first publishing. As the years of attempted faithfulness to God have passed, we've come to know each other better, and now deep cries out to deep.

Everyone said they’ve sang this in choir but I heard it cause it was my parents alarm when they came back from a missions trip to panama when I was 6
