Karen Peck Gooch who is Kelly Nelon's very best friend gives the eulogy about Kelly's life

You likely don't know this story - but nearly 25 years ago - my son was very sick. I was on my own with a sick child, and baby girl, and my husband of the time had left us. I leaned on the many songs from the many Gaither Homecoming videos - and I discovered the Nelons there. The music gave me strength in the long nights alone with this sick child. God was incredibly good and kept promising He had a plan. Yet, I took a little time and wrote some letters to some singers that my son enjoyed listening to too. When he was sick and had a hard time sleeping, we'd listen to these songs together. One of the letters I wrote was to the Nelons. Kelly wrote me back saying she was praying for my son and sent a cassette recording of Amber singing. Kenny, my son listened to that many times. My son survived - and is turning 27 this year - but that letter meant a lot to me. I just wanted to say how sorry I was for this loss, but I know with you all where they are at today and look forward to one day thanking them in that City of God! Thank you for your years Karen - I trust what God has for Autumn and all who remain here - something great. My long journey with my son - took a long time to see the purpose - but I'm seeing it now. Karen, this was a great eulogy. I can't imagine you two in a ballet class.🤣 I can just hear Kelly laughing at this. The Cinderella sisters. Best eulogy ever. 🩷🦋🙏 I can just picture Kelly blushing while you are telling all of this, but she would also be cracking up. You have the best memories. Go have a pizza in her honor. Ms. Peck, I spent a lot of time traveling with a SG group as a pianist in my early days, and I’ve had the honor of seeing you perform and worship various times throughout the years, beginning in 1982 with the Rex Nelon Singers. You are truly a blessing to meet, and yours was probably the greatest eulogy I’ve ever heard. God bless you.

This news hit me like a ton of bricks. I just could not believe it. For me it is a tragedy that defies adequate description. Life is just so unpredictable and tenuous. They were such talented musicians and great people.
