As long as you've got the inventory space, I'd be picking up those rice and flax seeds. Flax is good for cloth, but also as goat feed, while rice is the best grain in the game for satiation. You don't really need that cobblestone. It's not exactly difficult to come by when you actually do need it, especially with a handy new pick.

For a game I've been playing for months now, putting in a few hundred hours... I've learned two things in two days. The first is how to repair clothes, which I thought required you to stick the clothes and wool into the crafting grid, which obviously never worked, so I've never repaired anything... The other's I trick I figured out last night that most people probably know already... lol

If you can't find any coal, you need to make some for your first two tools. You can build a charcoal pit of only one stack of firewood. When you're smelting, use wood to get the fire to 800, then stick in *one* coal to get it up to that limit, immediately replacing it with firewood again. It takes a while for the temp to decrease beyond the 1085 you need to smelt copper, and you need another coal. I smelted a full crucible (2500 units) on just a few brown coal, and mostly firewood.
