Project Mugen has been on everyone's lips recently. It's arguably the most anticipated upcoming game at present, having appeared seemingly out of nowhere, but having a complete game to show off.
It was rumored to be an MMO - with the studio developing it with MMO-functionality in mind. But ultimately they believed it would be better received - and no doubt more profitable financially, if they were to adopt a Gacha business model, featuring a large, seamless open world, Anime aesthetic, and fast, fluid combat style.
You could go as far as to compare this to Genshin Impact or Wuthering Waves. People have been leaving comments claiming this is what Tower of Fantasy wished it could be.
But what exactly is it? Is it going to be free to play? Do we have a release date? Pre-registration? Ideas on public Betas? That's what we're here today to discuss.

Honestly, Project Mugen instantly became my most anticipated game. it used to be Wuthering waves, but the graphic style of Project Mugen and how it's set in a modern city makes me really hyped about it, i love urban style games set in big cities.

this game is literally on my “need to play” list. It’s a mix of Splatoon for city design and shooting mechanics, Genshin impact + HSR for character designs, Honkai impact 3rd for fighting animations and feel, Spider Man for the grappling and wall running, Fortnite also for shooting mechanics and gun designs, Any mobile MMORPG, for example black desert for weapons, etc. Akibas Trip/Akiba strip for plot, (a city in danger and needs to be protected, etc), and gta for car hijacking, subway mechanics, and characters with skills that let them traverse land. I SWEAR THIS GAME IS GONNA BE FIRE 🗣️🗣️🗣️‼️‼️‼️

Recent events killed my excitement for Blue protocol. Hopefully this will fill that hole.

I'd assume the game would have a big massive Hub City as the main scenario. And then you would have smaller cities like "Rural City" "Beach City" "Mountain City" and so on. But also there would be a bit of connection between each of those.

Since Naked Rain is a subsidiary of the team that (to the best that I can find) made Naraka Bladepoint, I can also see some parallels between the movement / combat in this game and Naraka, which is a good sign considering how much I love Naraka's gameplay

If they are going to have open world and if it has coop, the coop needs to be able to be progressed with all players currently in the world, I fuck8ng hate not being able to play story missions with friends. If they do that, then the game could have a long-running player base as no other gacha that I know of does it

Why are so many games starting out in production as an MMO but changing to another type of game before release?

One thing Genshin did amazingly is the optimization. If this game is gonna be a lagfest even on low settings, it's gonna be in trouble.

Artifacts system is fine
Whats not fine is that there's 2 sets per dungeon
so not only you didnt get the stats you want but also didnt got the set you want

Honestly this might be my very first gacha game to whale on most of the other gacha games never seem appealing too me but project mugen maybe this one is very promising

The amount of easter eggs and small details in the trailer is just truly insane, it has easily become a game most gamers are anticipated for, can’t wait for it to be released 😩🤩
