General defensive actions are poor. Poor marking, slow to close down and backing off too much allowing Brazilian players space and time to do whatever. It’s symptomatic of the Matilda’s. The Brazilians were better skills wise including touch.

Great goal by Foord/Raso and Micah had some incredible saves limiting the Brazilian score but...more pace and marking and tackling needed by the defenders and not enough attacking moves up front!

I am still in shock over Gumboots Carpenter receiving the AFC Asian International Player of the Year award. She is constantly out of position defensively, runs pass the player she passes to going forward giving them no option, dribbles at pace with her blonde hair flowing captivating the crowd with very little on the end of it and looks like she is still learning how to cross the ball on the run and pick out a team mate. Charlie Grant is a much more competent right back.

I have zero respect for players that score a goal that was handed to them on a plate by an amazing setup pass and they do not give immediate acknowledgement to the person that set them up.
