Head protection has been available for players for decades . If they choose not to wear them then that’s on them.

What about all the other guys out there playing football in the lower leagues and just out in the country towns. Should they get compensated if they’ve had a concussion?

AFL house had a whole generation thinking it was ok for head knocks. Even made it a badge of honour. Its about time this happened

I should sue Yamaha because I fell off my bike and got a concussion.

No one has ever been hit in the head while playing football, so every injury took everyone by complete surprise.

it was their choice to play contact sports for a living. You dont see removalists suing their employer because they picked up a lounge the wrong way

The AFL is just another business and should be as liable as any other would be for the harm that happens in the workplace.

Well this opens up a can of worms, for all the people who ever played footy and their clubs across Australia, your choice to play 🙄

This is why the men’s netball league is taking off. 😂

Make helmet wearing compulsory then no future claim can be made.

How many of the Players contemplating suicide do so because they are simply depressed at no longer having success and celebrity status? It happens a lot with actors that have fleeting fame and they weren’t concussed. Having said that, if the Dil Maclachlan focussed on the game and not sticking his fingers into every woke social issue then perhaps he could make the game safer for the players while ensuring it remains tough and entertaining for the fans.

Nope. Sorry, but you choose to play a full contact sport that has no helmets or padding, then you assume the risk. You know you will be hit or tackled when playing. There's no maybe. You WILL be hit. What about amateur and local players? They don't get paid to play and may have to take time off from their actual jobs, what if they all start suing their local leagues now? This will ruin Aussie Rules.
