What a perfect ending. The reach out of a hand that was taken, a head upon a shoulder. There was no reason for words, the smiles told us from that second it would be two lives shared. No need for fireworks, xmas party, big statements.Just a moment of tenderness and genuine love on the back of an Arriva bus. This show will be seen as a classic in the future and rightly so.

Arguably the most wholesome tv show out there.

I'm in the U.S. and only "discovered" this show from a Facebook post on a Britcom fan page. I ended up binge-watching it online and fell in love with it. As finales to shows go, this has gotta be one of the absolute best. What was striking is that although the show was driven (no pun intended!) by dialog - chatting, singing, etc. - the end was all gestures and expressions and was just perfect. John turning his hand so she could take it spoke more than pages of scripted dialog ever could. Kayleigh putting her head on his shoulder and their smiles were a totally satisfying place to end. It's gonna be okay. They'll get through the madness together. I would love to have more, but if that really was where it concluded, it would still be absolute perfection...

Truly wonderful gentle, humor. People being kind to one another and enjoying each other's company. I would be happy if my life was like this.

The car door scene is a golden UK comedy moment that ranks with 'Don't tell him Pike', Andre Previn on Morecambe and Wise, Basil Fawlty whacking his car, Four Candles and the bar scene from Food and Horses.

The most perfect ending, absolute genius. Every time I see him hold his hand out I get a lump in my throat, no American comedy can touch real comedic genius and balance it with emotion

Saved a hedgehog, , caused a crash, got the man she loved, and sat happy together on the bus hand in hand, , not a bad day after all

I’m watching reruns of the show again. It’s the best program ever made. Peter Kay is a comedy genius.

The door flying off while those guys were exchanging insurance details was so good lol it was the perfect balance of comedy and drama in a British setting

It's just the camera shot where John pops his head out 0:52 lmao his reaction was so funny lol

First time I ever cried to hand holding. Please have a spin off of them working in the supermarket. We need to see the Christmas team and also the wedding. Of course Elsie needs to make an appearance. Miss this show already

I’ve seen this ending countless times but only recently noticed in the final shot of the broken door lying in the road you see the Now 48 CD that Kayleigh gave John at the end of series 1. That had been in the door pocket since the start of the second series.

Very well acted & excellent ' chemistry ' that's what makes the series & especially the last 2 minutes a classic that will be viewed years to come! 😀

I liked how there was no speech at the end there wasn’t any need for any a small act of kindness by Kayleigh giving him the earphone and an even bigger act of kindness by John offering his hand to her and her laying her head on his shoulder which showed she’s got her man ❤️❤️
