[TAS] Pikmin - 50 Pikmin 6 Day Completion (59:23)

This is a TAS of Pikmin that completes the game under both low% parameters: least pikmin (50) and least days (6). 50 pikmin are required to carry the gluon drive into the ship and 1 day is required for each area with the addition of 1 day for the positron generator in IS. The JP version actually requires 85 pikmin for the final part so this was done on the NA version.

In order to not surpass the 50 pikmin maximum I must use candypop buds to transform pikmin colours. It is necessary to have at least one pikmin of each type at the end of the day otherwise the onion will sprout a pikmin the following day.

The final time is 59:23 when starting time at "yes" on the memory card selection screen and ending when the final cutscene starts after the last cutscene skip. Depending on how the run is timed it could be some seconds faster or slower.

Disclaimer: this is not a frame perfect TAS. I made this with the intention of completing the game with 50 pikmin in 6 days and not to get the fastest conceivable time. In fact, this TAS was done with save states only and there was no frame advancing used. With that being said, I tried to optimize as much as I could and get every cutscene skip I could (all but 2). Perhaps in the future I or somebody else will do a more thorough TAS of this category. Ultimately, the TAS did beat the current RTA record by 30 minutes.

P.S. The #1 ionium jet is the worst part in the game.

Many games that get the TAS treatment get broken or made trivial. With Pikmin, you're playing the game exactly as intended, just, really really well.
