Community colleges are the secret ingredient to building a robust and equitable innovation economy in which employers can maximize their investments in emerging technologies, in which people can benefit from technological innovation through high-quality new jobs in in-demand emerging technology fields, and educators can expand the promise of invention and entrepreneurship to a broader swath of American than ever before. And yes, despite historic investments in R&D through the CHIPS and Science Act and other infrastructure bills passed in recent years, the full potential of community college contribution to technology-based economic development has yet to be realized.
