It's already an "enhancement crime" in nearly every state (including NY) to wear body armor during the commission of a violent crime.

Making it illegal to purchase or possess body armor is literally forcing everyone to be potential victims, and is morally reprehensible...

Some parents put a level 3 or 3A plate in their kid’s backpack in case of an active shooter situation and now it’s going to be a felony to posses one In NY. What a joke.

"Arms" includes armor. It is both protected under the 2nd Amendment and purely life saving equipment at the same time.

Look, I ultimately can’t decide for you whether or not you take responsibility for your own security, but I can’t think of a more passive way to protect yourself from gun violence than wearing body armor. Whoever says you can’t have it doesn’t care about your safety or your family’s safety.

Anyone can call New York to ask that this not be allowed to pass. Yes, they will tell you that if you don't live there, that they need not listen to you. Here's how they listen. You acknowledge that they aren't obligated to heed you, but you aren't obligated to send money to only candidates in your state either, and that you will make sure to contribute your monies to an opposing candidate that will have a more constitutional view of laws being brought up for consideration.
