So fun thing with this one. At one point the guy had 3d models that you could explore. I contacted him to ask if I could just go through and stuff them a bit, he had renders of the skeletal structure and I wanted to figure out how stuff worked. Reverse engineering. He said it was fine since the design was old but shortly after I noticed some parts didn’t exist in Lego and told him, he took stuff down. Not sure if it was related but oh well. It was fun to reverse engineer and I’m glad he’s selling his designs but I definitely don’t care for the limitation and price there.

I think the only thing I don’t care about this design is that it requires a support structure to stand, which I get considering the part weight and shape. Still I think I prefer some more recent smaller model designs instead. Like his Tallneck is huge and cool but I prefer Lego’s for simplicity and size. His recent Sawtooth looks cool too although finding out you can’t save the instructions you buy makes me not want to but that design. Also the renders he posted look like some fragile connections are happening.

I reckon you could switch those eyes out with the Lego lightbulb/LED looking pieces, I think they'd fit, they'd make the eyes bigger, and they'd solidly provide the right colour.

I'm just sorry you about what you said about MocBay, which by the way was created by me too.
There are several reasons why it is how it is. I think you might miss some behind the scenes info that might help you understand the bigger picture and the rip-offs problem that is killing my work.

@onthebrick Please do a video like this one of the Thunder jaw if you do ever end up doing the Tallneck (i read your "considering it" reply on another comment). I just got the official Lego Tallneck set which sent me on a rabbit hole of serching for other Horizon Lego sets/mocs (to go along with it) and came across Serial Builder moc's and purchased his instruction to build this Thunderjaw. I'm also considering getting the Tallneck after I complete this one...but there is NOTHING on the net of anyone else building that moc. So Im curious on why, especially since there's many video of this moc and his Sawtooth, but nothing on his Tallneck beside his pics. But yea, awesome job on this video! You helped me make a decision to start with this one 1st!

Lego is really missing out on the Horizon Zero Dawn franchise. I made the Lego-licensed Tallneck and its nice but it pales in comparison to Nicolas' MOC's. I plan on building all of his MOC's. Now I just need to knock over a Lego store or win the lottery. Them pieces ain't cheap!

I've never used briclink before but I've been considering building this set. You mentioned using real lego vs the unofficial bricks that you used so is there an option to specifically buy the non lego pieces?

I paid just over £200 for this on amazon but the QR code for the instructions doesn't work so now I'm having to spend another £30 on the instructions so I can start building it
