Thanks for posting this! I adopted my Texas heeler recently and I've been keeping him on the same food he had at the shelter but I plan on switching foods in the near future! My boy is just like Sully, such a foodie!

Love the clip of feeding them at the counter. And Sally refused to be left out. Lol.

I also have three ACDs that I switched about 6 months ago to Open Farm. We do dry chicken and ancient grains, a stew topper and immune and skin and coat chews. It’s expensive but it’s less cup per meal for my pack and ZERO recalls. This is the only food my picky girl has ever been consistent with and you are right about switching. It really is zero transition.

Now that Orijen was bought out I'm watching the ingredients for changes. Thank you for the review.

So glad to see Sully continuing to improve. The food sounds good, but my guess is that it is quite expensive.(??) We decided a month or so ago to feed Bella real people food. Brown rice, ground Turkey, Chicken, or beef, and lots of veggies, which she loves. This is all done with meat and veggies that are freezer burned and beyond our consumption. She loves it! Her stools are much better, and she maintains ideal weight with her exercise regimen. It’s not as expensive as you might think using food that is a bit old. I encourage you to give it a try! 🤔

For some unknown reason, the smellier the better! Crazy dogs!

Heelers are about the least fussy eaters of all Breeds My Bella eats anything, and I mean anything. All fruit, raw or cooked, all veggies, raw or cooked. I thought that maybe I had finally found something she wouldn’t eat in a dill pickle. She scarfed it right down!! Easy to feed!!👍😊

My cattle dog cross has been on it since a puppy. She loves it. I'm in Toronto...so i can but it at most pet stores. Another pro is it is a small company...that is not owned by a conglomerate. It is a bit more expensive but it is well worth it.

My cattle dog Skye has been on Victor Realtree MAX-5 Pro since he was a puppy. The breeder recommended it and uses it and we've stuck with it. Our vet reviewed the ingredients and approved this food. It does have some grain which is supposedly good. Skye can be picky. He gets to the point of being "hangry, " remembers that he hasn't eaten his food, and then goes to his dish and eats it by taking a mouthful of kibble to the carpet and munching on that mouthful. He's better at getting all of the kibbles off of the carpet. But, when he was a puppy, he'd drop pieces and we'd find them by walking on them 🤣. These dogs are always entertaining, aren't they! So good to see Sully eating with gusto!

I have been feeding Scout Open Farm for about 6 mos. He loves it and is really healthy. It is pricey, but this is high end good food and you don't need to feed as much due to the nutrition profile and calories. I add in a frozen Raw for dinner too. Open Farm sources from New Zealand as well. New Zealand maintains high standards for their livestock. SIDEBAR: I also love the company called Honest Kitchen. They follow all their ingredient sourcing from beginning to end and can provide paperwork to back it up. All their meats are sustainably sourced. But, Please research the companies to learn more.

Primal Freeze Dried Turkey and Sardine Nuggets Grain Free Dog Food, are great. The dogs love them and apparently have less preservatives than some other food. I just break them up in their food but it can be pricey too.

I've always wanted to use Fromm food for kibble anyways. It's a really old brand made in Wisconsin (where I'm originally from). I've used it, I just can't keep up with it because it's expensive too. They've never had a recall and that's impressive. It's so nice to see Sully tearing into the food 🤣. I'll check into this food.

When Sully dove into the kibble I started choking on my toast, and my dogs rushed over to see what was the matter! I spluttered and coughed up some crumbs, and the dogs immediately forgot all about my welfare as they ate the crumbs. Gee, thanks guys.
