In today's video, I go a head a grind down the rusty metal in the rear wheel wells of my 2004 saab 9-5 aero! To much surprise, the rust was not that bad and had only rusted through in 1 little area. With a POR-15 paint and some fiberglass, I renovated and did a rust prevention to keep this classy car in top shape. I hope you enjoy it. Please like, share, and subscribe!

Looks really nice. My baby is getting a rebuilt Transmission because I'm not a Saab killer

How do you jack up the rear of your 9-5? Where do you place your jack specifically? Much appreciated.

I’m currently looking at a SAAB my engine of my highlander blew up. My mechanic has a 1999 Saab sitting in his yard nice inside but it says Saab/ Scalia it’s nice but has been sitting for a while. We are using my battery from my highlander since it’s new. It has peeling on the hood and top how does one fix that

What rust converter did you use? I picked up a 2007 9-5 last year. We're sorting out a rear wheel bearing replacement and used your video for reference when I noticed this. Midwest, full on rust belt. I have some rust areas that I need to make sure are stopped.

Just got the exhaust done on my 05 Saab 9 5, but the power steering has been leaking. Had a guy look at it and said a bunch of lines look rusted out and needs to put a new rack and pinion in so its like over 2 grand more of work. Just replaced the serpentine belt and water pump.. but i think im better off just finding a new car at this point 😢

My 2006 9 5 still has just 48, 000 miles. Once I get the 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue Final 500, 1997 Mercury Cougar 30th Anniversary edition and 1991 Custom Cruiser finished, I will get to those oil cooler lines!

It's been awhile, but this is a timely vid for me. CA '99 9-3 back in MA since 2016 mostly garaged, but an old scrape on the rear 1/4 had rusted quickly here. So I had an autobody artist repair that vs replace panel, and it looks good. Now a thin scrape along the lip of the trunk has rusted. So I bought some sand paper months ago, but I haven't got to it yet...

A few yrs ago when I got new tires, the guy said he dreaded it upon first hearing how old the car was, then he saw it. My mechanic thinks it still looks like a CA car fresh-from-factory underneath, but I had him fluid film it anyway last spring while it was there (and since it makes many trips to the beach!) Also, I've wondered if we might need to replace control arms, etc., maybe when we do new rear springs?

For now, though, I've got to focus on the little bodywork I can do myself. A few weeks ago before LA Swedish Car Day here, I cerakoted the black trim. Easy to do, but it really makes the car look so much sharper.😎

Nice job on the DIY body work. I’ve got a 2002 Saab 9-5 Aero with 155K. I had a shop do some metal work and paint some years ago on it. Dog legs are starting to rust though.

Kyle, where did you order the dust shields for the rear brakes? I can't find them anywhere, they're no longer made. There's a guy in the UK selling after market ones on eBay, is that what you purchased?

I bought a new car. But i can't let go of my '03 9-5. I'm at around 230k. I drove it today. Have about the same rust on mine.

You're from Jersey. I just switched my insurance to NJM. About 40% savings.

What about the floorboard in the back? Mine 2000 9-5 has rust over there. It’s under the floor carpet. I did the doglegs recently. But no sure how to fix the floor. Probably the seats have to be removed. Hope you can make a vid on that fix. Love the content. Thanks!

I'm in Scotland, just bought 2010 9-5 estate, the inner wing all rotted and very rusty underneath. Saab like to cover all edges with plastic and the whole inner wing which means it probably never dries, great cars though, keep the faith.

I got the rust all fixed on both doglegs on my '06 with about 200k. Cost $1600 w/ tax at a local shop and it was done in under a week. A lot of body shops didn't want to touch such a small job, and I had to find a more enthusiast/classic oriented place.
