Does the optical and digital image stabilizer work on the iPhone when using the Shure Motiv Video app without a receiver?

I just bought these without the receiver - they connect fine with the MotivVideo App and sound great outside with fuzzy topper for wind BUT the app must be used for the video recording and is Heating up my iPhone 11 Pro super high and drains the battery fairly quickly. Anyone else having these issues? Does the receiver help alleviate this issue?
