Roswell Single Lane Roundabout

Gresham, Smith and Partners developed this traffic simulation of a roundabout at Grimes Bridge Road/Warsaw Road intersection to support our design of the intersection. This model makes extensive use of 3D models developed in Sketch Up to give the public a realistic view of how the roundabout will look in the built environment. The roundabout is scheduled to be opened in the Summer of 2011.

This is a great video of what SHOULD happen but in reality, it's not what happens. In the beginning of the video, the green car that is yielding to the cars in the circle should go first just like it shows, but more than likely, the black car that is yielding to the cars in the circle would advance into the circle right after the last white car because that's the last car regardless of whether it's the green cars turn or not. It happens 100's of times per day in Brighton at the Bridge Street roundabouts. In fact, it's very common for drivers ignoring to yield at all.
