Motet composed by Paul Manz, sung by the Kansas City Chorale.

Text adapted from Revelation 22 by Ruth Manz:

Peace be to you, and grace from Him,
Who freed us from our sins,
Who loved us all, and shed his blood,
That we might savèd be.

Sing holy, holy to our Lord,
The Lord, Almighty God!
Who was and is, and is to come,
Sing holy, holy Lord.

Rejoice in Heaven, all ye that dwell therein,
Rejoice on earth, ye saints below,
For Christ is coming, is coming soon,
For Christ is coming soon.

E'en so, Lord Jesus, quickly come,
And night shall be no more;
They need no light, nor lamp, nor sun,
For Christ will be their All!

Revelations 22:5:

And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Paul Manz's richest composition - definitely divinely inspired, without question. And this is an absolutely gorgeous performance by the Kansas City Chorale which I'm just discovering. I've sung and heard "E'en So Lord Jesus" many times but this rendition is utterly beautiful. Thank you!

Does anyone else know the story which goes with this song? I will tell you. Dr. Manz and Ruth Manz's son was stricken with illness on point of leaving us, at this point, Mrs. Manz found the Revelation text, gave it to Paul, who was very beside himself in grief.
E'en so Lord Jesus Quickly Come was born by this situation. Such a beautiful and intense piece of music. It requires of every singer the maximum breath support to attain triple pianissimo and the triple Forte in such close proximity and ultimate attention to the director for movement of tempo and speed. Easy? NO. Definitely glad to have had the best director in the world. Indeed Priceless. A treasure Indeed.
Thanks Dad. Wherever you are wherever you go. This tenor of your kids loves what you pulled out of me back then. Grateful for you.

Christ WILL come again

John 14: 1-3 1“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it
were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive
you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”  The
first time He came as a baby.  The next
time He comes will be as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Are you ready?
Without this promise our future would be hopeless.  E’en so Lord Jesus quickly come!

I used to be able to hit that low bass note at the end :((  much sad.  But a gorgeous performance of one of my favorite pieces ever.

Peter, thank you for posting this. Beautiful rendition of a beautiful hymn. What sort of animation did you use for the river's effects?
