In 55 years, Madame Stella Marquez de Araneta has seen it all in her Miss Universe Philippines franchise with Binibining Pilipinas.

From winning the Philippines' first two MU titles with Gloria Diaz in 1969 and Margarita Moran in 1973 to heartbreak with Miriam Quiambao in 1999 to criticism and hate heat in terms of selecting the candidates, training and gown and national costume designs that saw the Philippines went the entire 2000s with unplaced clappers in MU to the country having the longest ongoing MU placing streak with two titles from Pia Wurtzbach in 2015 and Catriona Gray in 2018.

You name it, Madame Stella saw it.

Thanks for everything Stella and BPCI.

Shamcey Supsup-Lee and the stand alone Miss Universe Philippines franchise, you have the biggest challenge to pick up where BPCI left off in the very successful 2010s decade starting in 2020.

We still have to say thanks to Madam Stella Araneta for her sacrifice and dedications to keep BPCI for more than 50 years! She made history and we owe her our gratitude. Still I will watch Binibining Pilipinas. It’s still prestigious and exciting. Sometimes we need to appreciate people . BPCI produced 4 Miss Universe and we are the fourth country with most numbers of Miss Universe winners! That’s history!

Definitely agree Binibining Pilipinas is still the country's prestigious national pageant. They can live without the MUP crown since they give the country's 4 Miss Universe crowns. New organization must produce new Miss Universe winners as a challenge.

Congrats Shamcey. Miss Stella Araneta is too old, and they are just holding back the progress of Miss Universe Philippines. I hope next year the Miss Universe Philippines will be at the Philippine Arena which is way bigger than the Araneta Coliseum. I hope they follow the format of Miss Universe Org so that the contestants are more familiar when the finals come.
