Does it make a difference if I multiply 4x(x+h) in the beginning or it will be alot more difficult to do so?

How about if its like this (square root of x) - 1/(square root of x) - 1

I know this is a bit of a dumb question, but what if f(x) is not a rational function? One of the steps that you used to solve this equation involved finding a common denominator. So what about function where you can’t use those?

hm.. You can apply the short cut rule such as the "quotient rule" to this can't you? I use the short cut and got the same answer. Whats the point of knowing the true definition of the Derivative if you got the short cut rules? When can I apply this again if short cut rules are out of the option?
