From the Creaors of Shaun The Sheep and Wallace and Gromit. Creature Comforts is a classic Aardman series based on the Oscar® winning short film by Nick Park featuring the real and unscripted voices of the great British public put in the mouths of animals made of modelling clay.

The success of the short film led to two TV series, which broadcast on ITV, and an iconic series of commercials for the Electricity Board’s ‘Heat Electric’ campaign. Creature Comforts also went across the pond to the USA where the unique format was used once again to tell real-life stories from people in America. The claymation characters portray very human traits and contemplate absurdities of the universe such as, ""Do bald eagles ever feel self-conscious?"" and ""What makes pigs feel sexy?""

At first I thought this was all scripted and when I realised these were real people I just loved it even more.

I'm in awe of how well the animator paid attention to how a mouth moves when the voice is accented or has an impediment.

When the cougar points out the “double glazing” - genius 😂😂😂

The Brazilian Jaguar pretty much stole the show. The Polar bears are very funny.

I remember seeing this for the first time at a Spike and Mike Festival of Animation in 1989 and being absolutely smitten.

The animation on this is more nuanced and naturalistic than I was expecting.

I remember watching this a lot as a kid and I used to think it was scripted. Literally found out today that it was just interviews with the general public. Like it even more now lol

Such an ingenious idea if you are running out of story ideas; record the general public and build characters/environments from what they are saying.

In case anyone doesn't know what this is, it's interviews with residents of a housing estate and an old people's home synced to claymation.

Did y’all know that while this was in production, Aardman animation was helping Nick Park finish his first ever Wallace and Gromit short for a graduation project? Nick was helping them with this short and in return they helped him finish on time.

I gotta be honest here, a Brazilian mountain lion voice by a Brazilian accent is so fitting. We need more of him

‘No I don’t like lions with steak, Andrew. I prefer the ordinary steak”. 😅😅

I must say, I really like how this is put together, and how they interviewed people for real to animate animals speaking the unscripted lines. I can definitely see why this beat _A Grand Day Out_ for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film - and hey, at least they have the same creator! :)

I've always been a fan of the original British Creature Comforts. When the U.S. attempted to duplicate it, it just wasn't anywhere close.

Clay animation has that special human touch and to be able to make so many models seem alive is just amazing.

That Jaguar speaks the damn truth. He isn't as conservative as like most of the other animals.

The jaguar is like Ayrton Senna complaining when drivers should leave a space during a turn and talk about how the environment in other countries are different in Brazil
