I live in France and I did it. The dollar is lower than the euro, so with the delivery it was about 35€. It's still pretty expensive, I'll give you that.

Bands do signing events where thousands of fans turn up to get autographs. So signing albums would be no different. Also as I said, this would only be for a limited edition - 'limited' being the key word. It's a way artists can give something back to their fans and warrent spending extra money on a limited edition.

Like I said, other bands have done it - more should follow suit. As I'd love to get all my favourite band's autographs, but can't afford to go to the signing events.

Makes it more worth while, if I won the chance to get it signed than I would know it's a real signature and not some copy and pasted crap like mass produced limited edition cds.

I really would like to buy it, but I'm not leaving in USA and those taxes for delivery are scaring me as hell.

So wait, you're working on a solo album as well as system of a down? Because I heard you guys got back together...but maybe my research wasn't very thorough enough...

You know what my problem is with pirating. It's that people only release music digitally, this especially happens with singles and EPs. People do it digitally because they think there saving money, but in reality they're losing money due to pirating. If most music was released on hard copies again and people drop digital downloads, I think the music industry would be strengthened. The thing is that people want an actually copy that is what sets it apart from buying online and pirating.

true, but as far as signing events go, you should get a vip ticket to one of their concerts that should be cheaper and better cause signing and a show :)

Your getting the 'original' print that is signed and framed.

Its completely different.

it was made in purpose, he might want to deliver a message by uploading the "edited song" to the internet as a free mp3 while leaving the original song watched by media meaningless :/, i just translate all his moves..

Why not just allow the limited editions to all be signed? :S It would make people actually want to buy the CD and not just pirate it or download it straight from Itunes.

I've picked up a few band's limited editions and they have been signed. I wouldn't have if they weren't! It's a nice extra to those who go out of their way to buy a limited edition.. and it's not as if it cannot be done, as other bands do it :S Why does it have to be a "chance" to get an autograph..

think about how painful it is to sign thousands of autographs

@TheJoEy9090 I completely agree about the music industry and its pirating problem. However, through the production of MP3 players, it seems as though they screwed themselves. It's the same with books. Somebody famous advertises a Kindle and suddenly physical copies are seen as burdensome. That's why some Borders bookstores went out of business.
