We are that. There is only One. I understand this kind of talk for some reason. I always knew it since I was 7, I can remember. I don't understand why some people don't get it. You don't need a God to get it. Religion is explotation of it. Just live and let live. Thats it. I love Elaine Pagels. I think she is brilliant.

Thank you Dr Pagels... I heard someone once say "Religion is meant to imprison those who understand it literally and liberate those who understand it symbolically." I think a lot of this clicks (even for folks who are stepping away from Christianity) when/if they start reading esoteric Buddhism, Sufism, Advaita Vedanta, Hermeticism, and the mystical and symbolic interpretations of religion etc. Hinduism, for instance, is just as unbelievable if one literally believes Shiva wears a cobra around his neck and the Ganges flows out of his head... but if one contemplates the symbolism and that the symbols are about one's own consciousness, things open up.

Long liked this lady very much. She is such a clarifier. An Australian lover of her understanding and eloquence. Makes me think directly of St Paul in Acts 17 about we are all sourced in the Majesty of God where we live and have our Being: his and ours together. Thomas is the Twin of Jesus. Like this so much. Reminds me of dear John Lennon also.

Thomas's name meaning "twin" also symbolizes the zodiac sign of Gemini and can mean "two", "of two minds"/"doubting". The Gospel of John told the story of "doubting Thomas", who refused to believe Jesus was risen from death until the moment that he got tangible physical proof. Yet no one else can ever get such alleged proof of that highly doubtful story. The orthodox Christian notion is that everyone else has to have faith or else will face eternal agony in hell fire.

At 6 mins, this is what happens in a LOT of new age circles that are borrowing from ancient Advaita Vedanta traditions.
That’s why there is a massive “incompleteness” to new age stuff. It is telling you you’re God without any context whatsoever, which is ironically truly blasphemous
There actually IS a context to those teachings, however they are entirely incomplete without context
It is 1000% better to be humble before the Lord than actually think you are a god of some sort, the danger of doing that spiritually is absolutely destructive
Hence the necessity to surrender to Jesus as the Son of God, the Messiah
