I'll have my second session of Red on saturday! So far i've been running a very one-shotty campaign in tandem with 2 buddies, with both of them occasionally gming themself.
Now I'm trying to get away from that way of extensive preplanning and more into creating ressources and options for my players.. and also learn Red :D

Pro-Tip I stole from MMOs and use all of the time in SR, CP, and WoD: Night City is a living place, and like the real world, everyone keeps routines. People leave their house at roughly the same time to get to work. So when you have one of the “tent pole” NPCs for the players/plot, set their timetables in a spreadsheet. It’s late afternoon or early evening and the crew wants to contact their Fixer who maintains a life outside the shadows as a family man pulling down a 9-5. Where would he be? How has he accounted for this alternative life he leads?

A pimp the crew knows makes his rounds every night collecting his take. It’s right after midnight. Is he at Chance or River’s corner? These kinds of answers are “one-and-done, ” give the world a lived-in feeling, and sets up alarm bells if ever the PCs notice the NPC has deviated from their routine.
