Premier takes aim at Ontario’s judges, warns they will be held accountable

With the purchase of 5 new police helicopters, Premier Doug Ford is promising to put violent criminals behind bars. But as Tina Yazdani reports, he’s also taking aim at Ontario’s judges, and the bail system.

Although Premier ford is controversial, I applaud him for this.

In Ottawa a man sucker punched an autistic child on a lrt train and knocked him. He was arrested and released on bail the next morning. The same man elbowed a person who was looking at there phone the next day. He broke that man’s jaw and was then arrested again. This was a year ago and I’ll never forget it. Our courts are dangerous!!!!

at least ford is calling out these judges. i say these judges should be named and shamed on dundas square and locked up in jail if they keep releasing these repeat criminals on the street. these judges are definitely doing a poor job and a shame to the public. are these judges getting bribed? they don't seem independent at all allowing criminals to roam around freely

Canadas justice system is broken judges can cry all they want but when you are in charge you need to take responsibility for your decisions

I 100% agree with him. Our current justice systems is an absolutely flaming bag of poo right now. So his plan makes great sense, lets gather the data so we can see. we all think we know whats going on, step 1, lets prove it. Then we can decide what to do about it. but we all know the current justice system is horrible.

I watched someone with 60 convictions that was out on bail get another bail last week.

Elected officials shouldn't interfere with judicial independence HOWEVER judges do need to be held accountable/responsible.
