Napoleon Dynamite remains one of the indie darlings of the 2000s. It came out of nowhere in 2004 to become the surprise hit of the year, and it even made its lead actor Jon Heder into an instant comedic star.

The movie was made with a budget of just $400,000, but it raked in a cool $46 million. That kind of profit is a triumph for any indie movie, and the film has remained a favorite of many in the years since.

How much of that profit did its lead actor Jon Heder see? Here’s how much money Jon Heder made for Napoleon Dynamite.

Uncle Rico hucking that steak and smacking Napoleon in the chops is still one of the funniest things I've seen in movie history...

I loved this movie. I bought it on DVD in 2004 at Walmart when I was 19 or 20 right after I graduated from high school.

I loved Napoleon Dynamite when it came out, but my teenager kids hated it. I still watch it just to piss my grown kids off. Lmfao Pedro for President!

_Where's uncle Rico?!?_ I love _Napoleon Dynamite_ the movie but I feel like it was a one-off kinda thing that just struck a perfect cord at the right moment. It was perfect, encapsulated. I really didn't want to see any more because they just could never quite capture the magic again. Some things are better just left alone.

The weirdest and funniest movie ever. My husband wanted to watch it, and it was such a strange production we got hooked on it. It seemed to start out on the slow side.. Kept watching just to see what would happen next. It just got funnier. Jon was amazing and the way they had John Gries was super cool. The 80's? style hair was just perfect. I had a crush on him because he reminded me of my husband's grandiose attitude he had sometimes. Jon in the Benchwarmers was just hilarious!! Never laughed so hard! Great video!

If they ever have a sequel, I hope Kip and LaFawnduh adopt a Chinese baby. That would be awesome for no specific reason.

My favourite movie of all time. They should keep it as a cult classic.

He initially received $1, 000 for his role. From there it opened doors for him to make a lot more money. There, saved you some time.

Such a funny movie. A second installment would be a very bad idea. Nothing will measure up to this one
