The "cheese bug" is a moth pupa, the moth equivalent to a butterfly's chrysalis. A cocoon is what a moth makes out of silk, and the pupa is it's old skin, like a chrysalis. It's moving because inside the pupa, the caterpillar essentially melts itself to reform as a moth, but keeps some muscles, nerves, and organs like breathing tubes, so it still moves every now and then until the insect inside hatches.
Also I believe that is a sugar glider eating the pupa.
