The recently opened Danum Galley, Library and Museum in Doncaster is host to a large number of artefacts relating to the town's rich history of the railways and locomotive construction.

Two locomotives, both of which were built at the famous Doncaster Works, take centre stage in the museum's Rail Heritage Centre: GNR C1 Atlantic No.251 and LNER V2 4771 'Green Arrow', with both locomotives being on loan from the National Railway Museum, having been transported from Locomotion in Shildon.

The Danum Rail Heritage Centre also features a number of items on display from the Doncaster Grammar School railway collection. The collection was began by the school's railway society in 1930, with the collection now containing around 10,000 items, including railway signage, infrastructure, locomotive parts, nameplates and headboards.

Hiya mate, firstly just wanted to say, great video, nice to see these two fantastic locos together.

Secondly, is this museum far away from the Railway or Bus station as I'd like to visit it sometime.

And is there any more railway memorabilia in the museum?

Hope to hear back from you soon.
