Find Intervals of Concavity (Where is the function concave up and down?)

My last couple videos have talked about how to find the second derivative of a function and how to use that to then find your inflection points of a function. We're going to be building on those topics in this video. We're going to be kind of picking up where we left off and kind of build on that in order to find intervals of concavity of a function. If you want to go back and check out those other topics first I'll go ahead and put an info card up there so you can go check those out and then come back to this video and we'll keep building on it from there. If finding intervals of concavity of a function is something that you want a little bit more work on and having a little bit better understanding of that sounds good to you be sure to stick around to the end of the video. Because I'm going to be talking about the steps and the process that you can go through and how you can apply these steps to basically any problem.

Chapters,
0:00 Introduction
1:18 Drawing the number line
2:28 writing the intervals
4:21 plugging different values from between intervals in second derivative
6:02 looking for positive or negative
7:33 figuring out concavity up/down
