i like comic books because when i was 6, my older sister gave me her old collection, and told me: "see these? these are yours."
i read them all. and now i follow in her footsteps. well... not exactly. while she's a baker who decorates cakes and such with her amazing artwork (artist major :D), i follow my dreams to make the imaginary future real. mechs? i'll get on it. flying cars? no sweat. teleportation? what cat? how about artificial intelligence? i'd like you to meet something called Hal 9000.

To me, comics are some sort of "means of transport" to a world that is completely mine, with all of my ideas, thoughts and maybe dreams floating around...I have a drawer full of comics I collect since I was 5, 6 or 7 years old. Now I'm 19.

Anyone else notice the girl is actually pretending to read a Wolverine comic but is in actuality reading a book by Hemingway, and not the other way around? If anything it seems she doesn't like comic books as much as she likes traditional prose.

I am a huge fan of comic books, and I too love them. But the problem is, I havent read a single comic book. Its because I live in Serbia. There are NO comic books in Serbia. I cant express how sad and hurt over the fact that I cant buy comic books. I wish one day to read one. To feel the joy...

I got my first one at the tender age of 8! It was a first edition Spiderman 1, and had just been released! I was already a fair reader by that time, and this comic cemented a love for reading and art into my brain for life. Now more than 46 years later I am not only a reader and an art lover, I also write and produce art of my own! Thank you goes out to Stan Lee and all the many artists and writers in the comics industry!
