This actually happened to me too. I used the minakaze companion and for some reason when my companion used the second move of the minakaze bloodline while korama was charging the tailed beast bomb, it disappeared. However, korama still can drop items since that is how i got the weapon drop.

I know its been a while since this was uploaded, but it's happening to me during the "!tentacion" fight I was using Minikaze cause he's one of the best companions, but I'm not so good at the game and don't have the apollo sand so I kill him slower, and need a distraction, that's why I use Minikaze. BUT THE TAILED JUST KEEPS MELTING FROM EXISTENCE!!! But so I have been searching online for an explanation to this didn't find an explanation, but I found a video with it and so I decided to post a comment here asking for help with this.

the glitch i got was i clicked the scroll and it said i unlocked it but still doesnt show

When this happens the boss does drop the items but it doesnt register to have died as the companion killed it.

1: this happens to me all the time and I just accept it at this point and cancel the quest making me have to wait another 5 hours.
2: what is the snow avalanche skill, I see it so much but no one tells me what it is
