In that case elections to J&K, Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharashtra should have been held simultaneously.

I am against this, because India needs checks & balances.
Every party needs to be able to compete, at different times. We cannot have a period of 5 years, where there will not be elections & the party in govt is safe, leading to poor performance & corruption in middle of those 5 years. But if there is some election in some state, every 2 1/2 years, the party in govt will be more conscious of its performance.

Another thing is if we have all elections on same time, resources will be stretched thin & there is danger of something happening some where in India, as we get busy with elections. Right now, people from one state can go to another state & protect the election process, there is always one part of India in election, while another is functioning & alert. India will be vulnerable, when all elections will happen everywhere, on same time.
