I absolutely hate that people burn the flag but not being allowed too goes against everything the flag stands for.

I find it so refreshing reading comments from veterans who support burning our flag. It’s literally our constitutional right to peacefully protest certain symbols.

As a trump supporter, I don't agree with this one

Edit: goes against my classical libertarian values.

As a veteran, I am proud that our citizens can fly their flag right-side up, upside down, fly it in pride, or burn it in frustration without the fear of prosecution. When citizens peacefully protest without persecution, it proves my sacrifice was not in vein.

Hey Trump, I voted for you in 16', but you lost me.. this puts the nail in the coffin.
Freedom of speech > Peoples feelings.

What you probably just caused was more people to exercise their right to burn the flag. Good job dummy

Seems quite fascist to throw people in jail for a year for exercising freedom of expression.

Lets pass laws preventing free speech in order to respect a flag that is supposed to stand for free speech. FASCIST!

How can people be against burning the flag but can be ok desecrating it with words or pictures. My dad died for that flag. Keep all pictures and words off it.

Where's the outrage about disrespecting the flag with his image on it.

"Your're burning the flag! My daddy died for that flag!"

"Really? I got mine at Walmart"

"My daddy died in Korea defending that flag!"

"What a coincidence, this flag was made in Korea"

Go back to Mexico trump. This is America. We believe in the 1st amendment. You know the one that came to mind Before any other amendment. Just because it hurts peoples feelings doesn’t mean it should be illegal.

It's disappointing when the (then) President condemns something that is a constitutional right. It's one thing to condemn vandalism, but burning the flag in itself is not a crime.

The US can burn and stomp on a country, but if someone does it to their flag, ohhh, that is terrible.

Right, so you're saying that if someone buys some napkins with the American flag on and puts them on the bonfire when they have used them they should go to prison? You know that happens every 4th of July.
