The Miami Seaquarium is a 38-acre (15 ha) oceanarium located on the island of Virginia Key in Biscayne Bay, Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States and is located near downtown Miami. Founded in 1955, it is one of the oldest oceanariums in the United States. In addition to marine mammals, the Miami Seaquarium houses fish, sharks, sea turtles, birds, reptiles, and manatees.

Exhibits
We are home to some of the top fun attractions in Miami for kids where education and inspiration take place. From discovering sea turtles, meeting the newest creatures, and learning about our conservation efforts, there is something for everyone. Visit penguins, sharks, manatees, crocodiles and so many other exciting animals!

Caribbean Flamingos
With our renovated entrance, you will now encounter over 30 beautiful flamingos, as soon as you enter the park. Our birds are surrounded by tropical landscape, allowing them to roam freely and enjoy the weather. Come meet these lovely birds and take picturesque photos!

Touch Pools
Submerge your hands and touch bamboo sharks, cleaner fish and invertebrates in our NEW Touch Pools! This interactive exhibit will make you not want to leave, especially if you have a swarm of fish swimming up to you and giving you kisses.

Tropical Fish Aquariums
Explore the stunning variety of tropical marine life that inhabits the aquariums lining the walls of the Top Deck Dolphin area. Explore a number of ocean creatures from Florida Lobsters that live in local reefs to the invasive Red Lion Fish which was recently discovered in Caribbean waters but are originally from the Pacific and Indian oceans.

Tropical Reef
The reef aquarium features a 750,000-gallon saltwater aquarium teeming with reef fishes of every size and color. During the Reef Presentation, a diver accompanied by a group of Sea Trekers work their way around the aquarium allowing visitors to watch as he/she hand-feeds tropical fish, large groupers, stingrays and moray eels.

Manatee Exhibit
The Manatee Presentation provides an opportunity to learn about this fascinating animal and, more importantly, explains ways that guests can help save these gentle creatures of the sea. The manatees featured are part of the rescue and rehabilitation program at Miami Seaquarium®.

Tropical Wings
View a variety of tropical birds, including macaws, cockatoos, Amazons, and African Greys. Our animal keepers are on hand to answer any questions you may have and tell you more about the birds we have on exhibit. Tropical Wings is also home to our Stingray Touch Pool.

Penguin Isle
Meet the newest creatures to call Miami Seaquarium® their home – African Penguins living at the brand new Penguin Isle. As soon as guests walk up to Penguin Isle, they will be greeted by over-sized, colorful graphics and educational displays about penguins and the challenges they face in the wild.

Tortuga Flats
Explore our sea turtle exhibit to learn more about the 5 endangered sea turtle species that live in Florida waters. The sea turtles featured are a part of the rescue and rehabilitation program at Miami Seaquarium®.

Seal & Sea Lion
The Seal & Sea Lion Feeder Pool is adjacent to the The Golden Dome, a Miami landmark designed by architect Buckminster Fuller. Throughout the day, guests may enjoy the Seal and Sea Lion Exhibit, where they can observe Sea Lions and Seals.

When I was a kid growing up in South Florida I remember there being a huge sawfish that swam with the nurse sharks, eagle rays and sea turtles in the shark canal exibit.

What a shame they couldn't set an example to the world and free Lolita! Instead they chose to fail her and now she is dead! How could anyone fund this type of industry? This should be a thing of the past!

The goose you were wondering about at 36:05 is an Egyptian goose. There were two with the Muscovy duck and Caribbean flamingos

Glad they closed the whale show. Whales are in family groups in the wild and can be re-released. According to someone I know that is in the zoo industry

They have a manatee named Romeo swimming alone in a take that he's been in since 1957. Allegedly

These poor animals should not be exposed to constant noise/music, they need peace and quiet! The dolphin tank is just awful, way too small. But thanks for this interesting video, I've been there in the 80s. Blessings from Canada.

Cool video, Tom! My favorite were the flamingos. I’m glad you didn’t lose your camera when the dolphin was trying to grab it. 😆

I was there 20 years ago and it was dirty, run-down and half-closed. I can't believe that place is still in operation.

I can't imagine what it costs to run these tanks. All the filtration systems. Maintenance, maintaining.

How is it legal to keep an Orca in a “tank” that’s smaller than a lot of private residential pools?!
Orca exhibited is closed, but she’s still there? If so, that means the “resolution” the park came up with for their ONE adult female Orca being negligently under stimulated from being the sole resident of an insanely small “tank” is to further alienate her from stimulation by stopping her from doing her life long routine and interaction with guests. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Hey Tom! Great video man! Lots of cool animals! Great camerawork and i could read pretty much all of the signage, not blurry or anything, so good job on that! I enjoyed the flamingos at the beginning and the big reef tank with all of those bigger fish! Also, the dolphins ( dolphins are probably one of my favourite sea creatures, i`ve always loved them ) and sea lions and seals!
Very nice habitats and the animals look well cared for and happy! Wonderful facility!
Looking forward to your reply Tom! I hope you`re well!

It was a dump when I was a kid and nothing has changed, I am 53 and was born and raised in Miami. They just need to level the place.

I see that Security busted you for leaning over the dolphin pool. ;-)

Great video! Looks like a fantastic place to visit. I grew up going to Marineland, and it looks very similar. I think that my favorite portion was the huge aquariums filled with fish. The rays and sharks were a close second.
