Factory Reset Yamaha P-125

Quick video on how to restore your Yamaha P-125 (and many other if not all Yamaha keyboards) back to the initial factory settings.

I needed to do this when my piano suddenly turned off touch sensitivity, and detuned some keys - I think caused from me repeatedly connecting and disconnecting my iPhone to the keyboard.

Thank you! I didn't notice my issue until I tried to play along with a song and the tune was off.. Turns out something changed the tone a half step but nothing appeared to be set (transpose, etc. was normal). Quick reset fixed it completely - phew!

Thanks Greatly! The same thing happened when I plugged and unplugged my P-125 into my computer for Garageband. The keyboard sounded great when I listened to it through GB on the computer. But when I unplugged it (admittedly after "experimenting" with many GB voices), it sounded awful! I thought I permanently ruined the keyboard until I found your video. And yes, this is buried in the instructions on page 24, which states in very fine print "If this instrument somehow malfunctions or fails to operate properly, try initializing the data as described above." So, the proper term for "Factory Reset" is "Initializing the Backup Data". Who knew? Thanks again!

I use my P-125 to record in Logic, and this exact same thing happened to me. Everything was being recorded at a velocity of 64, and I had to manually adjust each note. Really frustrating! Thanks for helping me figure out what was wrong.

If you reset the Yamaha psr-ew 425 factory settings will that erase the user record's memory if can answer thanks I want to reset the sound settings volume settings and preset settings but I want to keep the user memory that I recorded to the user slots

The issue I'm having is that I'm paranoid that something's changed with my piano. It's probably just me getting better with piano, but I'm finding that pieces are sounding really muddy. "Did I blow out the amp? Did I ruin the speakers?" Probably not. It's probably just me hitting a new level of competence and now I can hear the awful things I'm doing with the sustain pedal :D

I don’t want to loose my recordings but it’s exactly what you are talking about. The same note in different octave sound out of tune. How to fix with loosing the reviews things

my yamaha p-115 keys now only sound like guitar tone and i cannot change it back to default piano tone. do you think factory reset would work for this problem?

I recently got my yamaha 125 and its my first piano. My main queation tho is if the speakers are supposed to be loud or not. I have the volume to the maximum and it sounds fine but i only enjoy playing when the volume is max. Anything under seems too quiet and the maximum is not too loud. Is tha normal or do the speakers have some problem
