*I have 2 doubts ---*
1.when exactly should i start giving contest
2.What should be the approach for SPOJ, Top coder ....like should i solve 50 problems on spoj and then go for contest(i came across this in a website) or just learn basic ds and algos and start giving contests as early as possible.
*Edit* -- the amount of free resources online is overwhelming...and i like things organized..so which one(resource) should be done when and in what manner for a particular stage of preparation.

play parallelly, contests and 450 questions will go hand in hand
start with CF, practice and contests must be done separately
do 6-7 monthly contest
follow cp book and cp algorithm website
no demotivation
maintain good consistency
make contest peers, online friends, college friends for healthy competition
do multiple ques in single sitting
at last,
believe in yourself :)
