My dad paid cash for everything, except our homes and paid them off early. My sister thought it was a good idea to get him a secondary Amex card, he was not happy and never used it. His motto was " save $, buy with cash".

Stupid tax - Visiting Branson, Missouri on one of those free 3 night stay for just listening to the vacation property talk! Went, listened and somehow thought it sounded good and we could afford this.... married, 3 kids, mortgage, car loan, credit still signed up and had the paper work in went home and thank the Lord we had 30 days to cancel which when we got home we prayed and thought ore about it and canned it!! If I want to go on a vacation somewhere I'll just pay and go there!!

This comment is for George. Thank you for all you do!!! I love watching you!!! I would like to make a comment regarding the case where the girl signed a lease for an apartment and she never moved in but was still charged the $9, 000. Dave said ‘the little twit’ has to pay off the bill and her parents should not help her. It would be a lesson for the young girl. I think there are other options. 1. Do some investigation. Maybe the landlord rented out that apartment. 2. Speak to a pro bono lawye or try to negotiate yourself. 3. Go to small claims court. I raised my three children as a single mom. I learned to represent myself in court and I won many times. It was a lesson in courage and speaking up. You grow. Also, I think Dave owes the family an apology to the family for calling the girls “a little twit’. It is not nice . I’m sure he wouldn’t like someone calling his daughter derogatory names. To me it is not Christian like. Dave helps people and does a tremendous amount of good, but what is right is right

I think they should start asking callers how did u hear about us and what made u call our show for advice. You’re not gonna change someones mind in 2 mins. It seems as if they knew about the show then why would they ask some of these questions 🤷🏽‍♂️ and if someone smart in their life referred them to get their question answered it would be helpful to see where they are coming from because most people think “normal”

We've paid around 3500 of a CC this since January. We plan to pay off 9k by May. A good side gig is a nursing assistant job. Its hard work but makes decent money! Easy to get a certification.

1:01:23 home ownership is expensive. When we had a mortgage, our taxes and insurance, which we had in escrow (so built into our monthly payment) was 40% of our mortgage. We live in a fairly decent COL area, so I hate to think what percentage T&I are in other areas. Plus, those are two expenses that never go away, even when the mortgage is paid off. Repairs and maintenance never end, either. Home ownership, which I wouldn't trade, isn't all rainbows and unicorns.

Valerie - sell the house! If the other relatives don't want to sell and it's in a trust, an attorney can help you get out from under it. And sell those cars! You don't have close to enough money to manage those bills.

Ashley - going to school - is that a regular college degree or a master's degree? Have you chosen the least expensive option for schooling? Community college first and then a state school? And are you investigating earning your general education credits through self-study for CLEP exams so get through much more quickly and cheaply? Or are you investigating working for a company that has tuition reimbursement? I certainly hope it is not a private college or a for-profit college!
