I like to think Donnie Lightning's helmet flew off as he fell, and he crashed his head open in the landing.
This whole episode was like a retread of "The Littles" episode "A Little Drunk" where the main characters meet their favorite movie star but are dismayed to find said star is really rude to everyone and doesn't do his own stunts. The main difference is that the Littles movie star acts that way because he's an alcoholic, while Donnie is just a flat-out jerk. The episode also had the movie star attempt such a stunt on his own, only he voluntarily does it when the rest of the crew's not there and he's drunk, and he ends up starting a huge fire in the sound studio and the Littles have to rescue him while he's passed out.
