I'm just looking for the H&M/Zara dressing room music. What genre would that be?

This is misinformation! How can Garage House be born in the mid 80's, when Garage music comes from Deep House? The term "Garage" only came along because of the club in NYC called 'Paradise Garage. Garage music would still be called Deep House if it wasn't for people in NYC changing the name, even though Deep House is originally from New Jersey.

The USA forever writes its own history on house music. My take and memory is the extended Balearic Beats from Ibiza around 84/85. Mixed into the early raves of 86 everyone wanted it longer and harder. Chicago house was a bit later, say 89? Most Americans believe they invented house, funny, they believed the Stonewall riots started everything for gay/lesbians, could not be further from the truth. Did you know the USA invented breathing?

Old disco dj's like Frankie believe their own hype, an American cheap doco back it so it must be true. House music was a term, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye all mentioned house music in interviews. It simple meant music after hours back at ours. Frankie heard the phrase in 1981. House music in the UK was Northern Soul, disco and long players in the late 70's mixing into the rave scene, something the USA did not have. Believe what you will but there is no unique birth of any music genre. You'll be saying Rap started in the USA soon lol
