I'm glad to see self-driving cars making progress, but I don't trust google to keep me safe at 70 MPH.

..sorry I should have said no such thing as a 100% truly automated vehicle etc etc

They are not safe at all...I'm buggered if I would ever ride & put my life in the hands of some damn self-automated missile..anyhow at the moment there is no such thing as a truly 10% fully automated "self-thinking" vehicle...if not convinced then take a look at the recent Youtube video on this subject..namely.."The Myth of the Self-Driving Car"as stated in Consumer Reports, auto test track October 14th 2018

Self driving cars are lame, it solves no real problem. That same technology could be used for self flying personal vehicles, elemanate traffic congestion on roads. Computers and sensors could make mass adoption safe.
