I just picket up a 100% wool 66”x90” Ektos Olive Blaze striped. All I can say is wow! What an incredible product for such a reasonable price! 👍 Such an incredible find! Then I though, I wonder if there are any Youtube reviews on these blankets? Of course, Dan at Ochoco Bushcraft came right up. 😀👍

I bought the queen which is 90x90 and weighs 6.8 lbs. I can fold it in half and still cover myself with it. I am 66ft 250 lbs. I love it and I plan to get more of them before winter comes again.

I recently scored two Bundeswehr wool blankets from the 1960s that are pretty big and amazingly thick to supplement the small stash of 1950s Canadian Department of Defense blankets I have. The Canadian ones are only twins and not overly thick but they are dense.

do you think that this twin size Ektos 100% blanket could be warm enough with just staying layered under it ? how cold of weather do you think that this would hold up in? Thanks. thinking about getting this

I don’t understand why so many bushcrafters use wool blankets. A light synthetic sleeping bag is much warmer and lighter than a full sized wool blanket. If the temperature is much below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, the person with the blanket will need to burn a very large amount of wood to stay warm. I fear that an inexperienced person will get the idea that a wool blanket is as good as a sleeping bag, and will as a result suffer a very unpleasant night.

Never liked wool very much. I always found it heavy and itchy. I prefer my down being it packs down tight and is very light.
