Poppy Playtime is an episodic horror video game developed and published by American indie developer Mob Entertainment. The player takes the role of a former employee of toy-making company Playtime Co., who revisits its abandoned toy factory 10 years after its staff's disappearance.

In this short of Poppy Playtime we learn about the Prototype. A sentient experiment made under Poppy Playtime Co. that has learned how to mimic the voice of humans and kill those who oppose him. All the creatures that were made under The Doctor's watch have become devoted to the Prototype like he was their god. But it's here that we learn that the prototype was the mastermind behind the Hour of Joy that killed thousands and also uses his guardians to battle the player so when they die he can harvest their parts and graft it to his own body. He does this to become the perfect specimen and get revenge on the doctor.

From Game Page: A decrepit orphanage known as Playcare sits beneath the once magical toy factory. You must make your way through this haunted place, solving new puzzles and avoiding the nightmares that lurk within the dark. Answers lie between the blood-stained bedsheets and screaming echoes... If you can survive.

This is Poppy Playtime's biggest and most terrifying chapter yet. More lies ahead than you might expect...

New monsters await, and they're much more than just simple toys.
Playcare is Playtime's own massive, fantastical orphanage. And you get to explore it.

1. Wants to get revenge on the doctor ( the one who helps experiment with the children to make them into toys )
2. Collects toy parts of other toys on himself ( maybe he has the ability to ressurect the toys using their toy parts after he gets revenge on the doctor )
3. Maybe he started the "Hour Of joy" to take revenge on the employees who turned them into toys

Actually the doctor and the prototype made allies because Harley Sawyer (The Doctor) is Smart, Can control the technology in every corner of playtime factory and seeking revenge on Playtime Co. Who Turned him into "The Doctor" for being Psycopath and trouble maker. Good thing he did not end up in boxy boo's stomach.
