I do not believe that standardised testing is killing creativity because, in order to fully learn you need to study deeply and then practice to show that you understand what you studied and this is simply the aim of standardised testing. Also standardised testing promotes healthy competition and it is an incentive to intricately study what you have been taught in school. In conclusion, I believe that standardised testing is a good way of helping a student fully understand what is taught at school and invest in creative ways to learn.

Hi Natasha, excellent practice tests! I really enjoy your content. Quick question regarding the easy - do we have to completely agree or completely disagree with a particular idea? Often there can be a grey area. For instance in the “standardised testing” essay, I believe testing should be used only to guide goals but not to label a child. So I’m neither a 100% for nor against it but feel that it should be given only as much importance as it needs and then employ other methods to get a complete picture of the student’s skills. Many schools and universities ask students to take tests as a part of their syllabus. Some people argue that if there are too many tests to be taken, then it can leave the students exhausted and can affect their creativity in the long run. This essay will discuss why appearing for many exams can have a negative impact on the students.
It is very challenging for students to prepare for an exam as many courses have an extensive curriculum. These exams are highly important as they help the educational institutes to grade their students. These exams are also eventually required for the ranking of the universities. But, if the students are to appear for multiple exams, it can reduce their productivity. Students also need to enjoy extra-curricular activities like sports, drama and arts along with their academic interests. This helps them in striking a perfect balance in their hobbies and studies.
If the students are only made to focus on exams throughout the year, it can affect their mental and physical health. For example, students need some leisure time, so they relax and rest as well.
I believe that having 2-3 exams per year should be taken by the educational institutes so that the exams can represent the academic performance of the students optimally and yet at the same time will not be a burden on the students.
