When Chris Martin said he was allowed in for two days, this was when Korea was totally locked down and the Korean government gave him special permission after being in isolation for two weeks

Love that ya'll watched this. The two bands really are like brothers now. The plushie created for Jin's "The Astronaut" is called "Wootteo" and Cold Play has one of him next to the drum kit during every concert they have performed since Jin performed live with them in South America before he went into the military. They are always very positive and supportive of one another and i so appreciate that love and respect. Thank you!!

Fun facts:
- Chris Martin later revealed in an interview that it was actually World Wide Handsome Jin (yes, he actually called him his entire nickname 😂) who had initiated the entire collaboration. Jin has been a huge Coldplay fan for years so I'm really happy they clicked when they finally met.
- When BTS performed their first post-Covid concerts in LA, they went out to eat with Coldplay and Chris's girlfriend, Dakota Johnson.
- Jin met up with Dakota Johnson as late as yesterday at Milan Fashion Week, so they're still keeping contact.
- Coldplay has recently announced a "surprise guest" at their upcoming concert in Seoul so speculations are that Jin will be performing with them again shortly.
- In the documentary you can hear them all listening to Butter. This was filmed before the song's release which means Chris Martin was one of the very first people to hear their biggest Billboard hit to date.
- The Silencers' spaceship in the MV was inspired by the shape of the Corona virus which makes so much sense given the time.

I grew up on Coldplay as a young teen then found BTS decades later. It wasn't until I heard My Universe and saw this documentary that it clicked for me to see the connection. They share a lot of similarities and they just work so well together. Definitely a musical pairing that made sense.

I saw them surprise an entire stadium of us at their final night of Permission to Dance LA concert... Chris Martin came out at the very end to perform this song as an encore with BTS -- everyone lost their minds!!! It was fantastic!!

During the pandemic, Korea had a lot of restrictions, including people coming into the country. In September 2020, my Korean teacher had to spend a week in isolation before she could go see her family. By the time Chris went, the time in isolation was still mandatory but was down to three days if I remember correctly. Chris had to agree to additional protocols so his time in isolation was 24 hours: testing and isolating before going to Korea, only two days to work with BTS, could not go anywhere (no restaurants or sightseeing).

I'm so glad you watched this! They did finally get to perform this Live together in Nov 2021 at the AMA's. The audio wasn't the best there but they were so happy to be performing it together. BTS also won Best Artist of the Year and a couple other awards then too.
Also, Jin and Coldplay worked together after this for The Astronaut, and Jin flew all the way to Argentina to perform the song One time at Coldplay's concert because it was his gift to ARMY just before enlisting in the military. It's worth watching that MV, and Chris' speech at the concert, Jin performing at the concert and the behind the scenes of Jin traveling to get there and preparing for it.
BTS and Chris are really good friends at this point and Chris gifted his guitar to Jin in NY once they could meet.

It was also the first time Coldplay finally got a number 1 song in Billboard Hot 100. Equal credits BTS and Coldplay for My Universe. It is BTS' 6th number 1 song in the BB Hot 100 charts.

When Chris does this song in the stadium, just like the mv, he has BTS show up on the screens. It's kinda cool. this is where Jin recieved a guitar from Chris which is in his video Astronaut written by Coldplay/some lyrics by Jin. Chris is also the TV newsman in Jin's video. I think he will show up at Chris' concert in Europe... he was in Milan this week and Dakota Johnson was there who lives with Chris. Rumor of a special guest for Coldplay concert but then again Chris has some other collabs. Before the guys headed off to Military Chris joined them at the AMA's and they did this song live, also at their concerts in Las Vegas he popped in one night too.

They got to sing this together for the first time at the BB Music Awards in 2021, where BTS won Artist of the Year, and the week before their Permission to Dance concerts in LA. Chris was a surprise guest star on Day 4. It was amazing to see live!

This was done during covid where there was a lot of restrictions for air travel with quarantine and what not in place. BUTTER was not even released, Chris had the first listen. Fun fact: Coldplay Music of the Spheres tour is the highest grossing rock tour of all time surpassing 1 billion USD. Only Coldplay and Taylor Swift ever achieved this feat.

Thank you so much for this reaction. If I remember correctly, Chris has to quarantine for 14 days in a hotel before going to Hybe. I love this song 💜💜

My Universe is one of my fave songs from BTS/Coldplay. Thank you for reacting to this documentary, even if it was by accident haha. You could almost do a part 3 where you do react to the MV behind the scenes, and a part 4 reacting to them getting to perform it together at the AMAs!

So glad you saw it….I know for a lot of Army it brought comfort at a time when we wondered would we ever get back to normal….The L.A and Vegas concerts for BTS were their 1st ones when COVID restrictions were lifted….BTS was worried how that would affect fans but they got to perform Universe with Coldplay at the AMA awards and army and Coldplay fans showed up…..I’ve never seen such happiness in a group as that night….it was beautiful to watch!💜💜

I was actually lucky to get to see them perform this with Chris Martin at the last Permission to Dance concert in Los Angeles! It was a wonderful surprise when he came out!!
