Become an airline pilot in 2021? In its simplest sense, airline pilots are pilots who work for airline companies. Because of that, there is no way for an airline pilot to be self-employed. These pilots bring travelers and transport goods to different places, local or foreign, and follow a schedule.

Let's see if being an airline pilot is right for you:

What is the average salary of an airline pilot?
What is the job market like for airline pilots? Would it be hard for you to get a job?
Would this occupation be compatible with your personality and interests?
What kind of education do you need to become an airline pilot?
What will happen to airline pilots ten years from now?
Let's get started.

Awesome video. I’m 24 and currently work in IT. I want to change careers and think becoming a pilot would be a good fit for me.

The hardest part for me is the financial strain it takes to get the job.

As a pilot myself, it hurt me to watch this video. Maybe, you should do some research before posting things like this. First, all airline pilots are commercial pilots. You make it sound like this two different things . Flight instructors, crop dusters, banner towing all the way to airline pilots are all commercial pilots. You MUST be a commercial pilot to be paid to fly. You did not even mention the fact of how long it takes to get the even the regionals. It can take anywhere from 2 to 3 years from time you start pilot training.

People, please do some research. Yes, there is a lot of money in the aviation industry, but it takes years to get to those high paying jobs.

Don’t get your hopes up. Flight instructors get around 30k a year and regional fo start around 40k. Gonna be a while before you start pulling in numbers like that.

There is nothing like national airline pilots. There are just three types; the regional Airlines pilots, the major airline pilots and the corporate airline pilots. The regional is not a low grade pilot. They fly for the majors. The majors pay more, yes but if you check the benefits of regional Airlines pilots, you won't go wrong.
