Faster Than Light Travel WITHOUT Warping Space

You've likely heard of the Alcubierre Warp Drive, but that might not be the only way to travel faster than light. Warp drives get around the light speed barrier by circumventing it. They just sits stationary while spacetime bends about it, bringing about different problems. It's unclear how feasible such a craft is.

There is an alternative. Dr. Takaaki Musha published a paper in 2017 describing a method of faster than light travel which takes the light speed barrier head on.

Literally.

Musha's theory involves accelerating at such a pace that you tunnel right through the light speed barrier!

Watch as Rather B. Squidding takes you through more details.

This just made my Sunday night so much better. I can't wait to watch later!

I feel like you are an ideal "personality" and that you could easily elevate to become one of the faces of the ufo/alien discussion here on YouTube. Keep om putting out videos!

it's really *awful*, and you people should BE ASHAMED.

you know what I'm talking about?
the fact that this brilliant YouTuber that uploads constantly videos on topics he excruciatingly researched and meticulously put together, has only got 2k subscribers and less than couple hundred views on most of his incredible masterpieces.
I will advice you my friend to be patient and keep waiting until more individuals come across you and realise your value, because surely you will be highly appreciated not that long in the future, and I say that with a certainty because the products that you offered to us, have introduced me to ideas of utmost importance that impacted me on a profound level and made me reconsider multiple aspects of our deep understanding of reality and our current technological forefront.
Keep on doing your hard work, and thank you for what I'm going to now watch and enjoy!

So, from what I understood, the idea is basically accelerate so fast, that the light speed barrier just throws their hands up in the air and gives up, lmao. Anyway, subscribed and clicked the little bell, great video man.

Elizondo was on with Fessler today. They were talking about the humble video and how there could be a bubble around the craft which explains the rotation and movements.

Dude…you need to make way more videos. You know your shit.

Quantum Tunneling is one of those concepts that are very difficult to visualise because of our macroscopic understanding of the word 'barrier'. All representations I have seen depict the 'barrier' as a hard edged, usually rectangular shape, while the atom is either a wave or a fuzzy ball (as is the case in the diagrams you included). This mixing of macroscopic and atoscopic (if no descriptor exists, I propose 'atoscopic' to describe the atomic level viewpoint) is undoubtedly wrong. So too is the latest(?) visualization of wave functions, as those are calculated for a single, isolated atom. It will be some time before we 'see' what they really look like at the molecular level, especially when electromagnetic forces (and consciousness perhaps) are in play. I imagine wave functions are a lot better defined when you consider the interactions between the atom and all its neighbours. I feel we might need a simulation akin to that used to depict galaxy formation and collisions, but at an atoscopic scale (oh, look at that - it's catching on already!) to gain a better view of what's really going on.

That graph at 4:30 shows the infinite energy requirement, then the required energy to go faster decreasing… so one, you’d have to then add energy to slow down, and add it fast enough to tunnel past the barrier again right? Because seems like you wouldn’t be able to slow down otherwise… without getting into the graph for time dilation would start curving the other way, going backwards in time, and contraction towards the distance of travel becoming negative and making a mirror image of itself?

Great video! I have never heard of this before. Fascinating stuff. Thanks for all your hard work.

But assuming that the speed of light is exceeded, how will the spaceship interact with the medium in which it is traveling at that speed? Does the kinetic energy rule apply to it? Doesn't this mean that any collision with even one cosmic dust will generate tremendous energy?
Also, just as the spaceship needs a huge acceleration to exceed the speed of light, it also needs a huge deceleration immediately after it exceeds the speed of light in order to be able to maintain its tachyonic state

the closest we have ever came to working warp drive is coming from Dr. Erik Lentz

Awesome, thank you for reminding me of Alzofon (6:36) again; his work seems extraordinarily interesting to me!

We can go past the speed of light. There is no limit in vacuum of space. Use electromagnetic propulsion with infinite fuel to thrust ratio plus gravity assists and voila

You just earned a subscriber, great job dude.

Fun fact. My physics professor would use this as a joke that we got the question correct every time we got the question wrong.

Yet long before quantum tunneling was studied.

If we find relationship between gravity and electromagnetic forces we may be able to construct advanced travel devices

I think it will turn out that those we think are time traveling are merely experiencing a different experience of time which each of us have separately. I sent you a link to some cool video I just made based on some cool data I discovered but you and Luis are big timers now and don't have time for us plebeians :) haha We all experience time differently. A dragonfly experiences time differently than humans. So when you say travel faster than light? What are your reference points? Anyhoo :) We also experience things differently based on our understanding. When you allow your mind to zoom out far enough or in far enough things have their own perception of time based on that zoom level. Nature is stranger than fiction we will find out soon I think.
